One Minute a Day provides quirky insights into everyday life during the first lockdown in Vienna. Minute by minute, insignificant glimpses of daily life pass by, seemingly infused with boredom and irrelevance. Initially, One Minute a Day was conceived as a simple attempt to maintain an artistic practice by dogmatically filming one minute each day. However, by chance, it evolved into a documentary capturing the unique atmosphere of that time. The otherwise unspectacular scenes are transformed into a journey of wondrous moments through skillful editing and playful effects. In this way, One Minute a Day manages to encapsulate the ambivalent mix of spring-like lightheartedness and resignation across 25 days where much seems to occur, yet nothing truly happens.
